Serian Serengeti North Camp Highlights
Serian's Serengeti North; a seasonal camp that operates in the far northern reaches of the Serengeti National Park. A five minute drive from the Kogatende airstrip and within easy striking distance of the "Great Migration's" well documented river crossing points.
Immense panoramas are awash with voluble hordes of wildebeest, brim full of thespian drama. Newborn calves delight in their gangly mobility, whilst mega herds swarm the banks nosing out suitable crossing points. Vast concentrations of wildebeest mix with other ungulates whilst indulgent Lion, Cheetah and Leopard pursue and delight in the smorgasbord of nomadic mega herds.
Roaming like nomads we settle camp at close quarters to this great stage show. From June to November Serian's Serengeti North lies in a hidden valley of the Wogakuria alongside the sinuous Mara River. Decamping southward to the short grass plains in mid December we sift our way through the birthing season when this whole area comes alive with thousands of newborn wildebeest.
8 large en-suite tents, decorated in classic safari style with large beds and opulent rugs. Swathes of cotton soften the luxuriant bedroom furniture whilst the bathroom houses flush toilets, safari showers and vases of wild flowers conjure up idyllic East Africa. The custom made tents have two skins with shade cloth softening the heat of the noonday sun. All tents are positioned to take advantage of the camps immense views north over the lamai wedge.
The bathrooms are provided with fresh natural organic toiletries made in Kenya by "Cinnabar Green" and each tent has its own dedicated 240 volt power outlets so that you can charge camera batteries etc at any time of day.
