Serian's Serengeti South; a seasonal camp we operate in the deep south of the Serengeti, based from Kakessio in the NCA. The area is dominated by vast apparently infinite short grass plains, the Maswa woodlands to the south and west, the dramatic Gol Mountains and open plains of Loliondo to the east. The southern plains are at their best between mid December and late May when this whole area comes alive as millions of newborn wildebeest move onto the plains in search of the fresh green grass after the first rains.
Immense panoramas are awash with voluble hordes of wildebeest, brim full of thespian drama. The prime focus is the "birthing season" young calves delight in their gangly mobility, vast concentrations of wildebeest mix with other ungulates. Daily indulgent Lion, Cheetah and Wild Dog pursue and delight in the smorgasbord of nomadic mega herds.

Swathes of cotton soften the luxuriant bedroom furniture whilst the bathroom houses flush toilets, safari showers and vases of wild flowers conjure up idyllic East Africa.
