Angata Ngorongoro Camp
Ngorongoro Camp is located on the rim of the Ngorongoro Crater, adjacent to the Crater Lodge. This location is well inside the park's boundaries so allows for early game trips down to the crater, leaving you almost alone to explore the World Heritage Site. Except for the Maasai Giraffes, who cannot cope with the crater's steep slopes, up to 25.000 animals call the crater home. The major draw, and also the most elusive, are the 23 Black Rhinoceroses that dwell within the crater, which may be the only chance to observe them in the wild. For those who want to meet the Maasai, Masai Bomas are just a few kilometres distant.
This is Algata’s smallest camp that consists of 8 Guest Tents, a two-tent Family unit, a lounge, and a dining tent. Each guest tent has its own bathroom, which includes a shower, vanity desk and flush toilets. A King-size bed, two Twin beds, or three triple beds are available upon request. The lounge area of the camp is where you may meet other travellers and share your safari stories over a complimentary cup of Tanzanian coffee or tea. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are offered daily in the dining tent and freshly prepared by our Chefs. When the weather permits, Bush TV (the local term for a campfire) is lit and guests can enjoy some relaxation amongst the surrounding wilderness.
