Crater Forest Camp is a traditional tented safari camp situated on the edge of the Ngorongoro Tropical Forest in northern Tanzania. The camp offers a magnificent setting and romantic sundowners and evening meals can be served in a private setting on guest's verandas offering beautiful views of the forest. Guests can expect to see wildlife, including elephants roaming through the forest and hear the lions roar at night. Crater Forest Camp is a short scenic drive away from the world famous Ngorongoro Crater; set on a coffee plantation called Kirin Coffee Estate close to the Ngorongoro Crater. The camp is small and intimate and offers only 15 luxury tented rooms ensuring a personal experience.

Crater Forest Camp Gaming and Activities
Although the lodge is not located within the reserve, the crater is easily accessible from the lodge. Half day game drives can be taken into the crater. The advantage of the lodge is that there are other activities, in addition to game viewing. This is often a welcome break from a long safari and can be used as a midway leisure break for a safari itinerary. Crater Forest Campoffers a variety of activities including mountain biking, cultural tours, Coffee Estate tours as well as forest walks. The Ngorongoro Tropical Forest is ideal for mountain biking, and Crater Forest Camp has developed adventurous trails to explore. For cultural tours, Maasai guides will accompany guests and show them the area and share knowledge about their culture as well as of local wildlife and vegetation. A Coffee Estate Tour takes place on part of a coffee farm, the management can arrange a guided coffee tour as an interesting change after all the wildlife viewing and learn how coffee is grown, harvested and processed at the coffee factory as well as enjoy a taste. Forest walks are accompanied by an NCAA ranger for safety and will guests will have the opportunity to explore the Ngorongoro Conservation Area forest.
