Iganyana Tented Camp
A family-friendly Zimbabwe retreat in a private concession bordering Hwange National Park, fitting perfectly into a travel itinerary including Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park.
Iganyana Tented Camp Highlights
Easily accessed from Victoria Falls either by a 2-hour road journey or a short 30-minute charter flight, Iganyana Tented Camp welcomes families (children of all ages), as well as couples and solo travellers to a special private concession bordering Hwange National Park, Zimbabwe. The camp celebrates its position in the wild with each of the tented rooms occupying its own space between the trees, bringing guests together in the main area where a large open-air deck hosts dinner under the stars. Plenty of repurposed wood and ivory-coloured canvas keep the camp in natural balance with the surrounding bush.
- There are 15 spacious tented suites, each with double glass entrance doors, a private veranda, and inside, a bedroom, ensuite bathroom, sitting area and comforting amenities.
- The tents have the luxury of electricity and air-conditioning and have cool polished concrete floors and locally made wooden furniture with restored antique décor.
- The main camp, easily reached from each tent via compacted sand pathways, has an inviting lounge under a canvas roof, leading onto an open deck and a fire pit below where nights are spent under the stars.
- The surrounding wilderness unfolds from the camp and a nearby waterhole attracts plenty of passing wildlife to the open clearing out front.
Iganyana Tented Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Hwange is Zimbabwe’s flagship national park and it is widely known as the home of the elephants. It is a favourite among true nature lovers and offers some exceptional sightings of the rare African wild dog, as well as the iconic sable antelope, and earth-shattering battles between elephants and lions. Iganyana has an elite team of safari guides who conduct safari excursions both in 4x4 game viewers and on foot. Activities can be as personalised as desired. A full day game drive inside the national park safari begins after breakfast in the early morning when guests depart the camp for a day spent in the park, including a picnic lunch in the wild before returning to camp for sundowners and dinner. Game drives and guided bush walks within Iganyana’s private concession are equally as exciting and entirely private. Alternatively, spend the day relaxing at the lodge and making the most of this special place.
