Camelthorn Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Game viewing opportunities at Camelthorn Lodge takes place from vehicle and foot. Guides accompany guests on game viewings and are experienced and knowledgeable about the fauna and flora within the area. Each guest has their own guide who will join them on all activitie for the duration of their stay at Camelthorn Lodge. Driving through Hwange National park, guests are guaranteed to see a variety of wildlife such as the grazing wildebeest and roaming predators including lion, spotted hyena, cheetah and leopard. The bat-eared fox and jackal are common within Hwange National Park. Lion kills are the ultimate highlight for guests to see whilst out on a game drive. Some of the less-seen nocturnal creatures can be spotted while going on a night game drive. Red light filters are used to better the chances of seeing animals, but also to lessen the disturbance of spotting antbears, porcupines, genets, bushbabies and springhares. Experience a herd of bull elephant and a flange of baboons while enjoying a walking safari or visit one of the tribal areas such as Vozheka, Ngamo and Ngunyana. Guests have the chance of gaining insight of the Ndebele peoples’ cultures and lives.
