Mara River Post
The Northern Serengeti (Kogatende) along the Mara River embodies Africa's charm. It is unquestionably one of the world's most famous safari locations, having a diverse and abundant wildlife population. The Mara River is well-known for its stunning and sometimes catastrophic events that occur between June and October, when millions of wildebeests cross the river in an attempt to survive the river stream and crocodile attacks. The River carries water year-round and is favoured by elephants and hippos. The huge grasslands provide fantastic opportunities for close encounters with rhinoceros and cheetah hunt gazelles.
The camp is set on top of a knoll with unobstructed 270° views of the gorgeous Mara River and Savannah. The stylish common rooms are built on raised platforms to enhance views of the river, where you may observe wildebeest crossings and elephant families. The calm atmosphere combined with personalised service creates a sense of belonging and after an exhilarating wilderness trip, relax in the swimming pool or take a sleep on the sundeck. The 16 spacious canvas tents, each with a furnished observation deck overlooking the stunning Mara river and infinite grasslands, are decorated in contemporary African style. The tents are comfortable, with en-suite facilities (flush toilets, sinks, and showers), dressing room alcoves, and gorgeous timber finishes. The thatched roofs ensure a comfortable temperature inside even during the hottest months.
