Okonjima Main Camp Highlights
The 22 000 hectare private Okonjima Nature Reserve is home to the AfriCat Foundation; a non-profit organisation dedicated to the long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores, cheetahs and leopards in particular. Okonjima is situated a mere two and a half hours by road from Windhoek, half way between Etosha and Windhoek in the Waterberg Plateau. Okonjima Main Camp was the original Hanssen-family farmhouse that was renovated as a lodge in 1992. Accommodation at the main camp is offered in comfortable and spacious en-suite rooms with basic amenities.

Okonjima Main Camp Game Viewing and Activities
AfriCat is a non-profit organisation committed to the long-term conservation of Namibia's large carnivores, especially cheetahs & leopards. The main emphasis at Okonjima Main Camp is on large carnivore conservation and tracking of leopard and cheetah on foot. Birding is also available as well as photography and the Bushman Trail. Guests can also expect to see Aardwolf, Chacma baboon, Honey badger, Caracal, the Damara dik-dik, Wild dog, Bat-eared fox, Brown hyaena, Red Hartebeest, Giraffe, Impala, Eland, Blue Wildebeest, Kudu, Cheetah and Leopard and a variety of other animals.
