Frans Indongo Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Namibia boasts the largest Cheetah population on earth. In order to protect Cheetah in Namibia, the Cheetah Conservation Fund (CCF) was founded in 1990. From Frans Indongo Lodge it takes approximately 45 minutes to drive to the CCF. This is a half day excursion. Frans Indongo Lodge is situated in the heart of a 17.000 ha (170 km²) farm in the bush savannah. This is a working farm, however only a small portion of the farm is still used for agricultural purposes. The emphasis now is on caring for the wildlife. Apart from Gemsbok, Zebra, Kudu and Springbok there are also rarer species like Eland, Sable and Roan Antelope, Impala and Black Wildebeest, as well as White and Black Rhino. A game drive in an open 4x4 vehicle provides the opportunity to see wildlife. Walking trails are also available for those who prefer to get their feet on the ground. Other activities include an excursion to Waterberg Plateau Park and the OvaHerero Cultural Centre at Okakarara as well as an excursion to Otjiwarongo with visits to mineral shop, crocodile farm and local heritage museum.
