The Namib Desert Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Activities at Namib Desert Lodge are available and can be booked at the lodge, subject to availability. Activities include Dune Drives where guests can explore the fossilized dunes, the red dunes above the plateau and the many other wonders of the Namib Desert on this drive around Gondwana Namib Park. Walking Trails are also available; guests can enquire at reception if they wish to book. In Gondwana Namib Park consisting of approximately 100 km² the 'fossilized' dunes of the ancient Namib meet the active ones of the young Namib. To the west a sea of dunes extends as far as the eye can see; to the east vast plains reach out to distant mountains. Guests can watch Gemsbok, Springbok and Ostrich on the plains. Fairy circles are large bald patches in the grass, a mystery to be discovered; or guests can enjoy a drive 60 km south and visit Sesriem Canyon and near-by Sossusvlei which boasts the highest dunes on earth.
