Maweninga Camp
Maweninga camp is perched on top of an imposing granite boulder, overlooking Lake Manyara and Burunge located in Tarangire National Park. This area is regarded as one of Tanzania's most attractive habitats for wildlife, its large herds of elephants and massive baobab trees. The park spans 2,850 km² and has an average elevation of 1,100 m. It also receives its fame from the enormous number of wild species that can be seen there, including Gerenuk, lesser and bigger Kudu, Oryx, and Eland.
The 16 canvas tents have been constructed on individual raised wooden platforms and are relatively similar in terms of layout and decoration, yet each one has its own distinct bush atmosphere. The safari canvas tents all have an open terrace, a bedroom and a dressing room alcove with an en-suite bathroom (flush toilets, wash basins and showers with 24 hour hot water). The restaurant and bar, with wooden floors and a makuti roof, are positioned next to the large flat rock terrace. Refreshing refreshments are supplied while you take in the spectacular views and sunset over the bush. After dinner, relax in a lounge chair by the lovely campfire while listening to Massai legends. Enjoy a wonderful evening at our smaller restaurant, which overlooks the wilderness.
