The camp offers magnificent natural surroundings and spectacular scenery as well as a unique location in an area offering the highest concentration of African wildlife and birdlife. Accommodation at Siwandu is luxurious and spacious and all safari tents are situated along the lake shore offering complete privacy and magnificent views. Guests can relax on their private viewing decks and enjoy early morning tea and coffee while watching the animals wander by. ASiwandu guests need not leave the camp in order to experience exciting game viewing, hippos and elephant frequently move between the tents offering plenty of action.

Siwandu Game Viewing and Activities
Siwandu is one of Africa's true hidden gems and one of the wildest conservation areas consisting of an unbelievable 55,000 sq km; Selous is almost twice the size of Belgium and four times larger than the famous Serengeti. The Rufiji River is the largest river in East Africa which drains most of South Western Tanzania's water, this reserve offers an abundance of wildlife and is home to over 1,000,000 large animals and over half of Tanzania's elephant population can be found here. The area north of the Rufiji River is extremely diverse, consisting of hardwood forests, open plains and rocky arid hills and volcanic springs in the West. One of the main attractions is the river itself offering one of the largest crocodile and hippo populations in Africa and an abundance of fish which in turn offers some of the best water birding in the world. Selous Game Reserve offers more than 2,100 plant species, 350 bird species, 60,000 elephant, 108,000 buffalos and an estimated 1,300 remaining rare wild dog.
