Pitse Lodge Highlights
Pitse Lodge is situated in the malaria-free 37000 hectare Welgevonden Private Game Reserve. Welgevonden Private Game Reserve forms part of the spectacular Waterberg Region and shares a border with the Marakele National Park. Each lodge within Welgevonden is secluded and on their own portion of this vast reserve. Guests can traverse and have free access to the entire unfenced sanctuary. Stitched to an ancient rocky ridge on the edge of vast, open grassland, the lodge stands proud and luxurious with the charm of the Old-Transvaal, making this a private wilderness retreat. Game drives are conducted at guests’ convenience and candlelit dinners can be enjoyed at the fireside under a canopy of stars. Children are most welcome.

Pitse Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Welgevonden offers an abundance of wildlife on its vast plains. Lion, elephant, white rhino, zebra, giraffe, wildebeest, eland, kudu and many other species of game occur in the area, with occasional sightings of leopard and cheetah. Welgevonden also has an extensive bird and plant species list. In the Pitse area there are unique populations of blue cranes, secretary birds and Cape Vultures. The lodge is well known for its large presence of white rhino, which often graze very close to the lodge. Guests are often treated to these sightings from the lodges' swimming pool. Daily game drives and guided bush walks are arranged. Experienced rangers will lead all game activities. Day picnics can be arranged into other areas of the reserve as well as the Marakele National Park where guests can visit the breeding camps of the endangered roan and sable antelope.
