Welgevonden Private Game Reserve is a malaria-free reserve, famous for the big five, lion, rhino, buffalo, elephant and leopard. The reserve is home to an extraordinary diversity of plant and animal life, as well as more than 350 species of birds. Guests have access to the entire 36 000 hectare reserve and all game activities are accompanied by expert rangers who are all too eager to share their knowledge. Guests are assured of exceptional game viewing, including the excellent Rhino sightings and more antelope that can be seen in one area than in any other game reserve in Southern Africa. Game rarely seen in other reserves includes aardvark and brown hyena, eland and bush pig, all of which can be sighted in Welgevonden Game Reserve.
