Lengishu
Lengishu was born out of love for Africa and is situated in the midst of the Borama Conservancy. The primary focus on building Lengishu was to make as little impact on the surroundings as possible by using sustainable and local building materials. The vision was to create an authentic Kenyan home while still giving the highest level of elegance and style.
Why stay in a luxurious safari lodge in Kenya when you may have the solitude and flexibility of a private family home, complete with friendly personnel to care to your every need? Lengishu allows you to choose your own route without being constrained by the limits of other safari hotels. Lengishu is made of locally obtained materials and is intended to blend in with its surroundings. The house was expertly created by local artisans and boasts exquisite exposed Kenyan timber work, as well as stone for the floors and unique design elements unearthed from the site itself. The interiors are elegantly designed in neutral tones with flashes of red, a tribute to the owner's Scottish heritage as well as those of their Maasai community. All bedrooms offer en-suite bathrooms with rain showers and freestanding copper bathtubs, as well as fireplaces or wood burning stoves for chilly evenings. Floor-to-ceiling windows offer breath-taking views of the undulating plains beyond, ideal for bathtub game viewing.
