Malewa Wildlife Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Due to the fragile environment at Kigio Wildlife Conservancy, the lodge places great emphasis on low impact activities which includes walking, biking and fishing. Early mornings start with a bush breakfast where guests are treated to breakfast at the river. Day and night game drives are enjoyed in open 4X4 vehicles and local communities are visited. Bush walks are accompanied by a knowledgeable naturalist to educate guests of the relationship between the plants and wildlife within the area. Guests are taken on river walks where they can spot hippo, the crowned eagle and even the shy leopard. On game drives, game viewing focuses on the endangered Rothschild giraffe, plains game, eland, buffalo, warthog, hyena and the elusive leopard. Night game drives reveal the lesser seen wildlife such as the aardvark, leopard, serval and more. For the more relaxed guest, fishing can be enjoyed at the Malewa River.
