Duke's Camp
This unadulterated African wilderness is mixed with an unmistakable safari style, and it is pitched in a remote wilderness area on a channel of the northern Okavango Delta. Created and realized by Ralph Bousfield and the team behind Jack's Camp, a Kalahari landmark. Experience the same vintage charm and understated opulence in the wild.
Each of the nine canvas safari cabins at Duke's Camp has been thoughtfully placed to provide breath-taking views of the Okavango Delta. The elegantly placed tents are elevated wooden platforms set among leadwood and ebony trees. The guest tents at Duke's Camp celebrate the beloved vintage safari aesthetic of plush fabrics, Persian rugs, and hand-carved four-poster beds. They take their inspiration from the style and panache of the original Jack's Camp. Imagine richly patterned kilims covering wooden floorboards, mahogany sideboards filled with African artifacts, and a butler tray holding a pot of steaming filter coffee in the morning. It seamlessly combines vintage charm, safari know-how, and a profound appreciation for the local natural ecosystems. Each tent has a roomy en-suite toilet with custom amenities and brass fixtures. Grab a drink from the fully supplied drinks cabinet and take a seat there. Meals are taken either in the communal eating tent, which is dominated by a long, vintage dining table, or in the shade of the enormous ebony trees. Visitors congregate to share tales of their time spent exploring the wild or to appreciate the cabinets of curiosities stocked with artifacts and collectibles acquired by the Bousfield family over several generations of travel in Africa.

This exceptional Okavango Delta adventure follows in the long tradition of Jack's Camp's high caliber guiding. At Duke's Camp, guides combine their extensive knowledge of the natural world, years spent in the bush, and the distinctive storytelling talent handed down by company founder Ralph Bousfield. Visitors can anticipate completely unique wilderness experiences because all wildlife activities take place on a sizable concession that is off-limits to the general public. Explore the pristine private concession on morning, afternoon, and evening game drives. This area is home to a diverse range of wildlife, including thriving populations of lion, leopard, cheetah, and elephant. The semi-aquatic red lechwe and the endangered sitatunga antelope are highlights of any trip to the Delta.
