Bomani Tented Camp Highlights
Situated inside the Ngamo Forest area, Bomani is located within a 5,000 acre remote private reserve, only 1.5 kilometres away from Ngamo’s gate to Hwange National Park. Once, rolling Kalahari sand dunes covered the area, but over time the rains turned the desert into an enormous lake. Today, the dry, expansive plains are dotted with natural water pans and Ilala Palms, offering a peaceful sanctuary to the countless herds of wildlife that call the area home. With the help of local builders, carpenters and thatchers, Bomani Tented Camp opened in 2000. Over time it has expanded, but remains an intimate and exclusive destination. There are now nine large luxury tents and one sumptuous thatched bungalow.
- The lodge staff is recruited from the local surrounding villages.
- Be introduced to some of the community initiatives that Bomani has been involved with.
- There is no electricity or generators at Bomani and the camp is lit at night with paraffin lamps.
