The River Club
The River Club in Zambia offers a unique location surrounded by beautiful manicured lawns on the banks of the Zambezi River. There is an abundance of bird life and the property supports over 80 species of indigenous trees.
The River Club is situated on the banks of the legendary Zambezi River, 18km upstream from the world-famous Victoria Falls. One of the many highlights of The River Club is that it offers guests the opportunity to experience one of the world's most fascinating natural wonders. The River Club in Zambia is ideal for guests looking for a romantic hide-away and offers incredible views and magical sunsets over the Zambezi River. The area around The River Club boasts a fantastic birdlife and unique fishing opportunities, including Tiger fishing (a challenging experience). For guests looking for some adventure, there is no shortage of activities at The River Club. Zambia is famous for offering exciting outdoor activities, including white water rafting, bungee jumping, abseiling, and helicopter flights over Victoria Falls.
- A Gazebo within the garden can easily convert into a small chapel for wedding ceremonies or private dinners
- Two 11-seater boats for cruises and three 13-seater minibuses for airport transfers and excursions to Livingstone town and the Falls.
- At around 5pm, walk down to the riverbank to board our boat for a leisurely sundowner cruise up the Zambezi.
- The highlight of a game-viewing trip in the Mosi-Oa-Tunga Park is the chance of seeing White Rhino.
Even though The River Club is not a game lodge, wildlife including elephants and hippos can often be seen in the Zambezi National Park. The bird-life in the area is fantastic, including several rarer species such as the African Finfoot, the Half Collared Kingfisher, the African Skimmer and the Collared Palm Thrush. For the avid bird watcher there are nature trails around The River Club, as well as boat cruises and island walks. For the keen fishermen, Tiger fishing is available and is a memorable experience particularly during the warmer months. There are varieties of Bream, for the more sporting, to try catch them on fly. Activities included at The River Club are visits to the Mosi-Oa-Tunya National Park, sundowner boat trips (island lunches can be arranged), visits to the historical Livingstone town, Livingstone museum and the Railway museum. A visit to a local African village (Simonga), and trips to the Zambian side of the Victoria Falls can be arranged, as well as, croquet, bush golf and nature walking on the property.
