Taita Falcon Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
The Bakota Gorge drops some 226 metres down from the lodge. This provides the perfect viewing point down onto Rapids 16 and 17 on the river, less than 11km from Victoria Falls. Watching the adventurous white water rafts and kayaks attempt to navigate their way carefully through these rapids. In the evenings, guests can relax with a sundowner and watch as the sun sets over the gorge, maybe enjoying the seclusion of our intimate little "nook" lounge or sharing stories around the warming campfire. Various activities are included in the rates; such as, guided bush & bird walks, short hikes, cultural village tours, a visit to Victoria Falls (Mosi-oa-Tunya), a sunset game viewing cruise and a Livingstone town tour. It is also possible to arrange white-water rafting, scenic flights over the Falls (by helicopter, small plane or micro-lite), elephant-back, horse-back, walking or riverboat safaris, abseiling, bungee-jumping and extreme combos! Game drives are also available, either in nearby Mosi-oa-Tunya NP or further afield - including Botswana's Chobe NP.
