Old Mondoro offers a beautiful location underneath the trees overlooking the river. At night guests can enjoy a lantern-lit camp offering a romantic glow and true bush camp experience whilst enjoying a delicious dinner under the stars. This part of the Lower Zambezi National Park is characterized by extensive flood plains and open woodland offering ideal walking and game viewing opportunities. The Park offers fantastic game viewing throughout and guests can expect to see elephant, lion and buffalo as well as leopard and serval sightings, and more plains game such as Zebra and Kudu. The emphasis at Old Mondoro is places on non-motorized safari activities and guests can expect a more traditional and adventurous safari experience accommodating only 8 guests at a time.

Old Mondoro Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Old Mondoro is famous for its wild dog sightings as the dogs often den near the camp. The Lower Zambezi National Park is one of Zambia's premier wildlife areas with abundant bird and animal life. Located on the banks of the Zambezi River and bordered on the northern side by the Muchinga escarpment, the park offers magnificent scenery. The Zimbabwean World Heritage Site, Mana Pools Reserve, is situated on the opposite bank forming a natural transfrontier park and creating a large sanctuary for wildlife. Abundant game occurs in the valley floor and along the river offering fantastic land and water-based game viewing opportunities. The park is host to large herds of elephant and large populations of lion, leopard, and side striped jackal, hyena, hippo, buffalo, zebra, waterbuck, and many other antelope. Less common are the African wild dog and aardvark. The Lower Zambezi National Park offers fantastic birding with over 300 species of birds recorded in the area.
