Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp
An ultra-luxurious mobile camp, Kichakani effortlessly occupies two different locations in the Serengeti during the year as it follows the seasonal movement of wildlife. Low on impact, high on indulgence, Kichakani is a love affair under canvas.
Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp Highlights
Setting Kichakani apart is its total elegance as a canvas, mobile camp. The chic canopied communal lounge and dining area, as well as the luxurious tented suites, can be packed up and recreated in a new location. This lessens its impact on the sensitive natural environment and makes Kichakani all the more lovable. Guests can expect to feel well looked after by a personal tent attendant who will make sure their hot bucket showers are ready and waiting at any time, and that their pre-game drive coffee and biscuits are delivered to the tent. Muted greys and ivory colour tones are complimented by rustic sanded timber and copper finishes.
Luxury mobile camp with 10 tented suites and an extensive canopied lounge and dining area, all of which is packed and relocated to follow the great migration.
One of the best camps for following the migration in the Serengeti.
Low impact, eco-friendly, fully solar-powered, KIchakani has achieved elegance and comfort without weighing on the environment.
Every element of the experience is authentic, from the Tanzanian brewed coffee, to the upcycled antique furniture, and high-quality linen and fabrics.
Located in southern Serengeti from November – April, and northern Serengeti from June to November.
Sanctuary Kichakani Serengeti Camp Activities
There’s no doubt that the wildebeest migration is the star of the show at Kichakani. It attracts an abundance of wildlife activity, not only the ambling gnu and their accompanying zebra and gazelle. The migration is known for tremendous predator sightings, as the front runners (lion and spotted hyena) vie for the weak and slow members of the herd. As the herds move through the Serengeti and cross rivers into the Mara in the north, they are constantly tailed by not only lion and hyena, but cheetah, wild dog, and leopard. There is no wondering why it is called the “greatest show on earth” and Kichakani positions itself right in the heart of the action. Action-packed game drives and memorable sundowners in this wild place make the experience hard to forget.
