Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp
The Tortilis Camp style provides Guests with the greatest comfort to make the trip to the wild bush nothing but pure joy. When it comes to a collection of unforgettable North Tanzanian adventures, the Tortilis Camps are a must. From wide open savannah safaris in the Serengeti; to the surreal spectacle of the Ngorongoro Crater, the grand expanse of Lake Manyara or the bright stary skies of Tarangire, let your senses come alive to the spectacles you’ve dreamed of from a bush bound holiday.
The Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp is a special oasis nestled under a forest canopy at the end of a valley. A magical place of dappled light, surrounded by lush green vegetation, and alive with the energy of this high-altitude wonderland. The Ngorongoro crater rim is just 13 kilometres away. The crater is a must-see natural wonder, but you'll be glad to be away from the cold and mist that surrounds the crater rim for much of the year. The tents are always a surprise to the guests who feel more like they are in a comfortable lodge than in a simple tent. There has been a lot of thought and creativity into the layout and interior design, as well as the decoration, materials, fabrics and items that each of the tents are created from. The end result is a one-of-a-kind East African setting that will make each guest feel at ease for the length of their Tortilis experience.

Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp offers several activities to enjoy. Join the Maasai staff for a trek to the top of Mount Makarot, a steep and exhilarating challenge with a height above 3100m. When guests reach the summit, they will be rewarded with breath-taking views of the Serengeti, a glimpse into the Ngorongoro crater, and, on a clear day, Mount Kilimanjaro in the distance. A traditional Maasai wedding with members of the local tribe is also on offer. A pulsing encounter and one-of-a-kind show that puts you and your spouse at the heart of everything. The Ngorongoro Tortilis Camp is home to thousands of elephants and giraffes. The perennial river attracts a large number of animals to its life-giving source, and 495 bird species can be found in the permanent swamps, particularly between November and April when migratory birds arrive. On game drives, guests may view lions, leopards, cheetahs, warthogs, and hyenas, and on guided walks, park rangers will point out both the micro-world of smaller creatures and the bigger species, which is exciting to see on foot.
