De Leeuwenhof is a wine farm providing guests with accommodation and a beautiful scenery. The estate is family run which has been running since 1698. The guesthouse offers views of Drakenstein Mountains and the Paarl Mountain.

De Leeuwenhof Estate has a farm with 3500 fruit trees which are hand-picked from March until September on a daily basis, and in January and February the delicate wines are harvested.One of many highlights of the area is the Main Road in Paarl. The main road is known to be the longest in the country which displays guests with a trip down memory lane. The buildings lining Main Road present a mosaic of the most historical examples of Cape Dutch, Victorian, Edwardian and Art Deco architecture. Another highlight of the area is the oaks donated by Simon van der Stel, Governor of the Cape of Good Hope colony, who provided the oaks for shade on hot summer days. On the bank of the Berg River guests are able to see an arboretum of 4 000 trees representing about 700 indigenous and exotic species. Paarl is also the third-oldest town in South Africa. Standing tall on Paarl Mountain and celebrating the birth of Afrikaans is the Afrikaans Language Monument and just outside Paarl is Drakenstein Prison, where Nelson Mandela spent his last years of captivity and started his walk to freedom.
