Guests can explore the scenic Franschhoek Wine Valley as well as many world-class restaurants offering superb cuisine. In addition to Franschhoek the Stellenbosch and Paarl wine routes are both within half an hour's drive offering a picturesque drive. The town of Franschhoek is surrounded by beautiful mountains and offers a variety of shops, galleries, Boutiques and art shops as well as a delightful chocolate factory. The area also offers excellent cheese makers and for a cultural and history excursion there are many museums and historical sites guests can explore. For the golf enthusiasts, there are many challenging courses within half an hours drive, including Pearly Valley Golf Estate, Boschenmeer Golf Estate, Stellenbosch Golf Club and Villiersdorp Country Club. For the more adventurous guests, wine tasting on horseback is an option (by riding from one farm to the next) or guests can rent a bicycle or go hiking in the mountains, hot air ballooning is available close by as well as paragliding in the Franschhoek mountains.
