Pilanesberg Private Lodge Highlights
Pilanesberg National Park is the 4th largest national park in South Africa and is one of only three Alkaline Ring Complexes in the world. The national park is regarded as the most pristine of the three. Important minerals occur in the park, however, they may not be important to the economy of South Africa. The most recent tribes, Tswane and Bagaltla, farmed with sorghum, wheat, tobacco, coffee, citrus, cattle, sheep and goats. Before the area could be proclaimed as a National Park, these tribes were removed, fences erected, roads built and over 7000 head of game were introduced into the area. It is the home to some critically endangered species such as the Black Rhino and African Wild Dog. Pilanesberg Private Lodge was designed in such a way that when guests are not on game drives, they have the opportunity to see as many animals at the lodge.
