It’s here that guests can enjoy private game drives, guided bush walks and sublime sundowners. The Timbavati is known for its lion sightings, and good numbers of buffalo and elephant.
Built in a prime position overlooking the endless plains, Nkarhi Homestead is ideal for families or small groups. Open lawns lead down to a swimming pool and deck area, complete with deck chairs and relaxation areas. The safari experience at Nkarhi Homestead is varied, and tailor-made to guests’ needs. Morning and evening game drives take place in the Timbavati, and each drive is led by a qualified field guide. Because the reserve is private, guides can take guests off-road to get up close to lion prides, wild dogs and elephants. Nature and wildlife walks can also be arranged, offering guests an opportunity to learn about the smaller things in the wild. Birding in the Timbavati is exceptional and safari enthusiasts can spot birds such as spoonbills, kingfishers and Martial eagles.
