Desert Grace Game Viewing and Activities
The Gondwana Namib Park is part of the greater protected area of the Namib Naukluft on the western border of Namibia where the Atlantic sea meets the ancient desert. For millions of years, parts of the Namib dunes have fossilised, while other areas are endlessly moving and changing in towering red sand dunes. At Desert Grace, dune drives are the main attraction, as they offer a guided tour of this astonishing area and take visitors right into the magic of the desert. Day trips to the famed Sossusvlei and Deadvlei region of the park are offered, as are sunset game drives through the local area around the lodge. Dune walks can also be arranged upon request. The wildlife of the desert is very much alive, and each species is specially adapted to survive in the harsh, waterless conditions. Oryx, giraffe, kudu, klipspinger, black-backed jackal, leopard, caracal, ostrich, aardvark, and many small reptiles and insects are present.
