Okahirongo Elephant Lodge is situated in the heart of the Kaokoland in the Purros Conservancy; described by many as one of the last true remaining wilderness areas, in the North West of Namibia. The area offers endless views across barren plains, beautiful mountain landscapes and complete peace and serenity. Guests at Okahirongo Elephant Lodge can choose between a variety of activities including wildlife and nature drives as well as sunrise and sunset drives; hiking trails are available in and around the Hoarusib Valley. Other activities include Elephant drives, Bird watching as well as the unique Desert Lion Project; Okahirongo Elephant Lodge works closely with the Desert Lion Project to help protect these magnificent predators through sustainable ecotourism. Guests can also visit the local Himba Village for a fascinating cultural experience. Guests will have the privilege of seeing desert- adapted wildlife unique to the area including elephants, black rhinos, giraffes and lions as well as other smaller species.
