Nhoma Safari Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Activities at Nhoma centre on the Bushmen and the village and this method of integration ensures that the local community receive a revenue from the operation conducted at the camp. Visitors are encouraged to spend their time with the local hunters who hunt in the traditional way, providing meat for the village people. Along the way the Bushmen stop to point out various plants and explain their traditional use for food or medicine. A hunt could follow porcupine, spring hare, kudu or even wildebeest. Any meat, berries or nuts, will be prepared by the hunters on their return. This is a real taste of authentic San culture. Other activities in the village include cooking, and making crafts and medicines. Hunting skills such as preparing hides, setting traps for birds and animals, the production of arrows and quivers, are also demonstrated regularly. Head to the village in the evenings for traditional giraffe or elephant healing dances, or arrange an un-missable trip into Khaudum National Park or the Nyae Nyae Conservancy with a trained guide.
