Thawale Lodge
Thawale Lodge is situated in the beautiful Majete Wildlife Reserve and offers guests a more luxurious option than the Majete Campsite.
Thawale Lodge Highlights
Thawale Lodge is situated approximately 70km south-west of Blantyre in the beautiful Shire Valley in the Majete Wildlife Reserve. The reserve is easily accessible from Blantyre and the trip will take approximately 1,5 hours. Guests can hire a car in Blantyre; however, a 4x4 vehicle is recommended during the wet season, as the road quality is influenced by the change in weather. Majete Wildlife Reserve has a very diverse vegetation scheme, which allows guests to see the scenery morphing beautifully and allows for superb game viewing all year round. It is now the premier Reserve in Malawi with the BIG 5 which allows visitors the opportunity to get up and close with wildlife.
- Opt to pitch a tent in our Community Campsite or sleep in more luxurious accommodation at Thawale Lodge.
- Guests can engage in something adventurous and do boat trips on the Shire River or bush walk and game drive combinations as well as hiking Mabele Hills.
- Each tent has private viewing deck overlooking the Lodge’s waterhole, where animals gather to drink.
