Serian Serengeti Lamai
The vast plains of the Lamai Wedge are breathtakingly gorgeous and abounding in wildlife. The scenery is evocative of Out of Africa, and there is lots of room to roam and explore. The camp is located opposite Crossing Point 4, midway along the river, and is perfectly positioned to see the wildebeest river crossings. Away from the river, this area of rolling grassland, boulder-strewn slopes, and fig-tree groves is teeming with incomprehensibly massive herds of wildebeest, topi, and zebra - as well as all the predators that feast on this mobile feast. Needless to say, the game viewing we have access to is of the highest calibre. The cheetah, lion, and elephant are extremely exciting to watch, but it is not uncommon to see the leopard.
Due to the camp's remoteness, guests have complete control of the camp. The quiet closeness of the 4 tents and 2 suites lends itself to personal bookings or groups accompanied by experienced private guides. The furniture and creature comforts are similar to those found in Serian's Serengeti North, with flushing toilets and bucket showers in an en suite bathroom, massive wrought-iron beds, Moroccan carpets and all the trimmings that make it simplistically gorgeous and pleasant. Guests can experience watching a migration crossing: the intensity, trauma, and sheer spectacle are all-consuming and resonate on a deep and fundamental level.

There are a variety of activities on offer at Serian Lamai including daily game drives where each party has their own open-top safari vehicle, as well as their own personal guide and spotter, which is the cornerstone of a safari experience at Serian. The freedom this gives guests is essential for making the most of your stay: go wherever the day takes you, whether it's a full day out with a picnic in the wilderness or a nice siesta back in camp before that ice-cold sundowner. The experienced guides know the landscape well and will translate and depict it until you view it through their eyes.
