Xaranna Tented Camp Game Viewing and Activities
The Okavango Delta in Botswana is the world's largest inland delta. The area was once part of the ancient Lake Makgadikgadi which dried up some 10 000 years ago. Today the Okavango River has no outlet to the sea; instead it empties onto the sands of the Kalahari Desert. The Okavango is home to prosperity of wildlife. The Delta provides a seasonal habitat to numerous different species, elephant, buffalo, hippopotamus, lechwe, blue wildebeest, giraffe, lion, cheetah, leopard, hyenas, both black and white rhinoceros and sable antelope can also be found in the Delta. The area is a bird watcher's paradise as there are over 400 species of birds including the African fish eagle, crested crane and sacred ibis. Activities include morning, afternoon and night game drives in open 4x4 safari vehicles, boating, mekoro excursions and guided bush walks lead by expert guides.
