Vumbura Plains Introduction
Vumbura Plains is situated in the far north of the Okavango Delta in a 60 000 hectare private concession offering extraordinary wildlife viewing. Vumbura offers a touch of romance, promises exclusivity and luxury in a private wildlife haven.
A retreat of contemporary and unique design, Vumbura Plains comprises two separate satellite camps, consisting of 14 rooms overall (of which two accommodate families). Each camp has its own sumptuous lounge and dining area tucked beneath a canopy of shady, indigenous trees. Magnificent vistas across the Okavango Delta extend outward while a deck with comfortable cushions protrudes into the floodplain, either for star-gazing or as a convivial camp fire setting. Each large, luxurious room is raised off the ground, with indoor and outdoor showers and an en-suite bathroom. A step down is the lounge area, open on three sides for that iconic view of the floodplains. Additional room features include a private plunge pool and 'sala' – a place from which to watch the passing parade of wildlife or indulge in a soothing massage.

- Excellent wildlife experience in a remote and private part of the Okavango.
- Luxurious and ultra safari chic
- All chalets have private plunge pools
- Birding is great with large varieties and quantities.
Vumbura Plains Game Viewing and Activities
This private concession consists of 60 000 hectares and includes a wide variety of habitats and diverse wildlife. Vumbura Plains offers both land and water activities, game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, guided nature walks, mokoro excursions and boat excursions. Guests will be able to enjoy close-up viewing of lion, leopard, elephant, cheetah and buffalo along with all the plains game. Birding is prolific here with immense species diversity. The Vumbura area is possibly the only area in the Okavango where one can see red lechwe (an animal that inhabits the fringes of the waterways) and sable antelope (an animal that prefers the dry countryside) on the same game drive.
