The owners of Domaine de Fontenay have restored this early 20th century colonial villa and its buildings, and have replanted indigenous trees in areas of secondary forest in Le Fontenay Nature Park. This century-old homestead of a wealthy French settler has been converted into a beautiful guesthouse in gorgeous settings. There are eight ensuite luxurious rooms and one suite with a private terrace, as well as beautiful grounds, a nature park, impeccable service, and fine dining. The family room has a large ensuite double room and a second ensuite room with bunk beds for children.

Ideally situated in the centre of the Northern region, the Domaine de Fontenay allows guests easy access to all the main tourist spots. The hotel is situated at the foot of the Montagne d'Ambre National Park, within two hours of the famous Tsingy of the Ankarana, within an hour of the beaches of the east coast and an hour from the Bay of Diego-Suarez. The Fontenay Park has an excellent reputation for night visits and studying many bird species found in the Amber Mountain Forest. The lodge itself is set in a beautiful tropical garden containing one of the largest collections of orchids in the north of Madagascar.
