Rhino Safari Camp Game Viewing and Activities
The Matusadona National Park consists of an area of approximately 1 407 square kilometers. Its boundaries are natural with the Ume River to the west, the Sanyati River to the east, Lake Kariba to the north, and the Matusadona Mountain range to the South and the park is world famous for its abundant wildlife. The secluded nature of the park, its remarkable natural boundaries and year round water supply has made the Matusadona National Park an ideal Intensive Protection Zone for the endangered Black Rhino. Wildlife includes the big five, black rhino, elephant, lion, leopard and buffalo. Hippo and crocodile and a wide variety of water birds can be found on the lake. Kudu, Warthog, Zebra, Bush buck, Impala, and numerous antelope species as well as over 350 documented bird species can also be found. Guided game drives accompanied by expert guides as well as cruises on the lake offer guests the opportunity to enjoy this magnificent area. There is no set routine at Rhino Safari Camp and if guests would prefer a bush picnic rather than a game drive, the camp staff will gladly arrange it.
