Nkuringo is ideally located to offer gorilla trekking activities in Bwindi National Park, and while guests are not hiking through this famous equatorial rainforest, they have one of the most idyllically positioned lodges to enjoy. The eco-friendly status of the lodge is widely recognised, and it is an important part of the role it plays in protecting the environment. There is a selection of three types of accommodation to suit families, or those looking for added privacy. Each of the 18 rooms enjoys a view of either the Virunga Mountains on the Rwandan border, or the lush gardens and slopes of Bwindi nearby.

- Families can easily be accommodated in the villas, which are connected by common balcony, and baby-sitting is offered at no extra cost.
- The lodge runs on solar power with back-up generator for emergencies; has a rainwater harvesting system; and plants ingenious trees as part of its effort to be carbon neutral.
- There is a dining room, bar, lounge, and coffee shop, plus a massage parlour and in-house craft shop. Complimentary Wi-Fi is provided throughout the main guest area.
Nkuringo Bwindi Gorilla Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
Gorilla trekking is what Uganda’s tourism is famous for, and Nkuringo is positioned perfectly to facilitate this amazing experience from its spot in the rainforest. The forest is full of other wildlife and some of the most sought after endemic bird species, which can be spotted on guided nature trails and dedicated bird-watching hikes. Full-day hiking excursions from Nkuringo to Buhoma, or combined hiking and canoeing on Lake Mutanda offer immersive and eye-opening experiences in nature that will stick with you for a long time. Opportunities to meet and learn from the Batwa community of Bwindi are enlightening and interesting, with guided tours of the village, a demonstration of hunter-gatherer skills, traditional dancing, and local food and coffee. To give back, guests can fund the planting of an indigenous tree, or support the Nkuringo Youth Initiative, which is based in the local Nkuringo Community.
