Kwihala Camp Highlights
Kwihala Camp is a private mobile camp situated in the Ruaha National Park. Here you experience the raw wilderness of East Africa while living in comfortable surroundings. It is situated very close to the Mwagusi area of the park, an area known for very good game viewing. This high specification tented camp comprises a stylish mess area and six very comfortable guests tents scattered amongst light combretum woodland.
- Ruaha Game Reserve is Tanzania's largest, yet is not crowded by tourists.
- The Mwagusi area is renowned for its predator population, particularly lions
- Kwihala is one of only three camps offering walking safaris in the reserve.
- Secluded accommodation connected via worn pathways.
Kwihala Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Activities are centred around vehicle and walking safaris, both in the immediate area and further down the Ruaha river itself. Guests can expect great game viewing during the daily morning and afternoon game drives. The lion viewing around the Mwagusi area is especially good and general predator concentrations across the park are better than many of the other parks in the country. Ruaha is Tanzania's largest Game Reserve, but it is underpopulated by lodges and camps making it a spectacular safari destination. Due to the large population of elephants, only a few camps are awarded the opportunity to conduct walking safaris in the area, and Kwihala Camp is one of these lucky three. A big game area with the exceptional option of a walking safari offers guests a superb Tanzania experience.
