Katavi Wildlife Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Katavi National Park is the third largest National Park in Tanzania; however, it is isolated and is one of the least visited parks ensuring a private and personal safari experience. The park offers spectacular scenery, as well as, an abundance of wildlife and is ideal for visitors looking for a wild and traditional safari experience. Katavi offers Tanzania's largest population of crocodiles and hippos, while lion and leopard can frequently be seen; huge population of herbivores include impala, eland, topi, zebra and herds of buffalo up to 1600 strong. The rare, honey coloured puku antelope is one of the park's richest wildlife viewing rewards. The park's most important geographical features are the wet grass plains to the north, Lake Chada to the south east and the Katuma River. These areas are especially rich in wildlife. The best time to visit this park is during the dry season (May to October.
