Machweo Retreat
Machweo Retreat is the sister to award winning Onsea House. Machweo is a wellness retreat & fine dining accommodation which perches on the green ridges of Mount Meru. The retreat is owned by two cousins, Dirk and Axel Janssens, who are originally from Belgium.
Machweo Retreat Highlights
Machweo Retreat opened in autumn 2011 and is the sister and neighbouring property to award-winning Onsea House in Arusha. Machweo Retreat has a sauna, a steam bath and Swedish and deep-tissue massages along with hand and feet treatments. Guests can cook alongside Axel Janssens, head chef of the restaurant, by learning how to cook Tanzanian meals and learning Belgique or French techniques. Guests may also accompany Axel Janssens on his morning fruit and vegetable run to the colourful Arusha market.

Machweo Retreat Game Viewing and Activities
Machweo Retreat offers the finest spa & wellness facilities which include a steam bath, sauna and swimming pool. Guests are able to use the jacuzzi at Onsea, a sister hotel to Machweo Retreat, on request. Guests are able to enjoy a hike up Kilimanjaro or take part in a Tanzanian safari. After a long adventurous day, a private pampering treatment area is set up in an open African hut for guests to unwind and relax.
