Gondwana Lodge Nature Activities
Sanbona Wildlife Reserve consists of 54 000 hectares of rolling mountains and indigenous fauna and flora. Qualified rangers will accompany guests on game drives conducted in open 4x4 landrovers. During the drive, be it in the early morning or for sundowners, various species of plants, animals, big game and birds can be seen. Sundowner evening drives offer spectacular displays of light as the evening sun sets over the Little Karoo. Returning to the Lodge, nocturnal animals can often be seen. Animals to look out for at Sanbona include white lion, elephant, cheetah, buffalo, black rhino, leopard, wildebeest, brown hyena, hippo, zebra, ostrich, springbok, kudu, red hartebeest, and many other antelope. Other activities include guided nature walks, photography, bird-watching, rock formations and features, trout fishing, a Wellness Centre, and spectacular star gazing.
