Marataba Trails Lodge is a luxurious eco-friendly lodge with just five suites. Each beautifully appointed suite has a full en suite bathroom with a view, a private viewing deck and a fireplace for those cool winters nights.

Marataba Mountain Lodge Game Viewing and Activities
The focus at Marataba Mountain Lodge is on exploring the beautiful surroundings on foot. The expert guiding team will match trails to suit the fitness of the guests. Trails follow the natural river course, or climb the gorges of the Waterberg Mountains and head up on the mountain trails with all encompassing vistas of the Waterberg. There are also trails that take guests to the historical spots of the area, with cave paintings and iron age ruins.
The Marakele Reserve is home to the big five, lion, leopard, rhino, buffalo and elephant as well as most of the large mammals synonymous with the African bush, including black and white rhino and cheetah. Large predators such as brown hyena can also be seen and resident antelope include sable, kudu, eland, impala, waterbuck, tsessebe, hartebeest, wildebeest and many smaller species. Chacma baboon and vervet monkey are two species also found here especially around the lodge. The birdlife is prolific.
