
Leokwe Camp
This is Mapungubwe’s main camp, located in the eastern section of the Park in the spectacular sandstone hills. Close to the camp guests can enjoy the Treetop Hide and the Confluence View Site & Picnic Area.

Leokwe Camp is Mapungubwe's main camp, situated in the eastern parts of the Park in the magnificent sandstone hills. Leokwe offers an affordable self-catering option with basic facilities for families or friends traveling together. The camp offers a swimming pool, a sundeck and a central braai area; however, this is a self-catering camp and no restaurant or telephones are available.



- Guided bush walks and game drives in the morning, afternoon and evening
- A two-to-three hour heritage tour is available on request, as well as, the popular three hour tree top walk.
- Two of the cottages are wheelchair accessible.
Leokwe Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Mapungubwe National Park offers visitors a superb wildlife and safari experience and is home to approximately 60 mammals and 300 bird species, including Africa's notorious Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino). The major attractions are the great number and variety of archaeological sites; San art sites; game and Big Five experiences; unusually large examples of numerous trees including baobabs and climbing figs; scenery; “moon landscapes” of sandstone formations; bird life; eco routes and “three country” experiences. Activities include guided tours to the archaeological and cultural sites; visiting the Treetop hide and various game and bird hides; self guided trails; Eco routes; guided trips to Limited Motorized Zones; birding trips and night drives.
