Toto, meaning "baby" in Swahili, is used in reference to this camp's reputable sister camp, Mara Plains. Just a few kilometers downstream from this renowned camp is Mara Toto, perfectly positioned in a small bend in the Ntiakitiak River, where thick forest meets savannah. A balanced blend of comfort, adventure and intimacy make this camp truly desireable amongst the confounding network of camps dotted in and around this popular Kenyan Reserve. Mara Expeditions Camp is located in the heart of the magnificent Mara Reserve, and the camp’s traversing rights of both Mara North Conservancy and the Masai Mara Game Reserve give guests the flexibility to explore far and wide in search of arguably the finest wildlife sightings on earth; particularly predator viewing.

Mara Expeditions Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Guests are invited to spend days out exploring the 70,000 acre private Mara North Conservancy, shared with just an handful of other small boutique camps; or to go deep into the famous Masai Mara Game Reserve to catch the river crossings or a foray around Topi Plains in search of Notch & sons. Keeping with the finest in the industry, each Mara Toto tent is kitted with the finest Swarovski Optik binoculars for guest use, and in addition, there is a professional quality Canon camera up for rent, should guests require one for the time spent at Mara Toto. The glade of trees surrounding the camp is prime leopard territory, and the camp is at a superior location from which to witness the great wildebeest and zebra migration - right from the comfort of the tent! Activities on offer include extensive game drives, balloon safaris (at extra cost), local village visits and unrivalled access to superior wildlife habitats, as well as, visits to local schools and Great Plains community projects in the surrounding area.
