Located on the banks of a channel in the Ntiakatek River, means that game viewing doesn’t end after game drives. The croc and hippo infested waters always offer some kind of entertaining sighting, and the opportunities for birding are endless. The camp is also perfectly positioned to take advantage of both the green season migration and the famous Serengeti migration, where it’s not uncommon to spot thousands of wildebeest migrating.
There are a few local leopards that often wander through camp, providing once in a lifetime sightings. Birders will delight in knowing that a few common residents in the area include saddle-billed storks, turacos, African fish eagles and a range of other wading birds.
Game drives take place twice a day when the predators are most active. The game viewers are open 4x4s, allowing for maximum vantage points. Guided drives traverse a wide territory across both the Mara North Conservancy and the national reserve. Early morning walks are also possible, and are included. Cultural visits to Maasai bomas, hot air ballooning, and community involvement can also be arranged.
