Mombo Camp Game Viewing and Activities
Mombo Camp is world renowned for offering the best big game viewing in Africa, situated on the northern edge of Chief's Island; the largest landmass in the Okavango Delta. The area offers huge numbers as well as variety of large mammals all year round, including elephant and buffalo, tiny steenbok, large numbers of herbivores are followed by their predators, lion, leopard and cheetah as well as a multitude of general plains game. Activities at Mombo Camp consist of morning and afternoon game drives in open 4x4 vehicles, allowing guests to explore the savannah and floodplains. Guests can expect to see sightings of lion, leopard, cheetah, wild dog, elephant, spotted hyena, southern giraffe, blue wildebeest, Burchell's zebra and large buffalo herds. Black and white rhino have been reintroduced with outstanding success to the area (albeit most are further away from camp), thanks to the Botswana Rhino Reintroduction Programme.
