Linyanti Ebony Camp
Linyanti Ebony is an intimate, luxury tented camp supremely located on the Linyanti River in Chobe Enclave, accommodating only 10 people at a time and welcoming family groups or exclusive bookings of at least eight people.
Linyanti Ebony Camp Introduction
This family-friendly camp occupies a private area of Chobe Enclave, where Botswana’s greatest population of elephants is known to gather during the dry season when the Linyanti is the only source of permanent water. With only 4 guest tents, the atmosphere is uncrowded and personal, allowing guests to enjoy a peaceful and private safari experience. The focal point of a Linyanti Ebony safari is the riverscape, starting with the rooms which look onto the river, and the activities which trace the edge of the river by 4x4 or cruise the waterways by mokoro, or scan the scenery from the air in a helicopter.
- The simple design of Linyanti Ebony is complimented exceptionally well by crafty pieces of furniture and decor, coming together to create the luxurious feel of the old-fashioned explorer era.
- The four tented suites are built on elevated wooden platforms. Three are standard two-sleepers, and one is a family tent with one double room and one twin room, which has a bathtub with a view.
- The main lodge area is shrouded in pale canvas, housing a dining, bar, and lounge and extending to a raised wooden deck with seating areas and a open-air fire pit beyond.
- Plunge pool and sun loungers add another element of relaxation and comfort
Linyanti Ebony Camp Game Viewing and Activities
The Linyanti area of Chobe Enclave is like a wild oasis during the dry season when the rest of Chobe is in a state of drought. Wildlife gathering along the river is an astonishing sight, and the presence of elephants is particularly special. Sitatunga are rarely seen antelope that prefer the deeper channels of wetland areas and can be seen neck-deep in the water if you’re lucky enough to spot them. Sable and roan join kudu and waterbuck and red lechwe to create an extra-special antelope sightings list, while African wild dog, leopard, and lion are the predators that thrive in this vegetated, lush region of northern Botswana. Activities on offer at Linyanti Ebony include game drives, bush walks (not for those under 16), helicopter flights between April and November, and mokoro cruises when water levels permit, and all safari experiences are directed towards the unique and extraordinary river ecosystem of this special area.
