Vakona Forest Lodge Activities
Vakona has its own private reserve where you can observe Madagascar’s endemic species, from the tiny Brookesia minima Chameleon (no larger than your fingernail) to crocodiles and exotic birds. Lemur Island is a charming island accessible by canoe, where you can meet habituated lemurs saved from captivity. Various activities are on offer for guests including horse riding, squash, mountain biking and the use of the hotel's swimming pool. The lodge is the perfect base to explore the nearby Andasibe National Park. The Park is known for its variety of diurnal and nocturnal species, and is probably best known for the Indri Indri lemur.
