Days 1 to 4: Madikwe Safari Lodge : Lelapa Lodge, Madikwe Game Reserve
On arrival in Johannesburg, you will depart on the easy 4 hour drive to Madikwe Game Reserve. Madikwe is an amazing success story, abandoned farmland repopulated with animals. The birds found their own way there. Experience Big 5 game drives, spot cheetah and brown hyena and much more.
Lelapa Lodge is geared for children, with family suites. Children rooms have fun bunk beds, lots of toys and games, kiddies gowns and slippers, stories on their pillows and more. Each suite has a private plunge pool and the main area’s pool overlooks the active waterhole.Morning and evening game drives, bush walks, private dinners and much more await guests at Madikwe Safari Lodge.
Days 4 to 7: Marataba Safari Lodge , Marataba, Waterberg
After breakfast, you will depart on an easy 3 hour drive to Marataba and the gorgeous Marataba Safari Lodge. This breathtaking region of South Africa has the dramatic Waterberg Mountains, gorges and winding rivers, with plains and dense bushveld providing an excellent backdrop to all activities. Explore on game drives, bush walks, picnics and even a water safari, giving you a unique take on the bush at an unhurried pace.
Each Family tented suite has a second bedroom with children's bunk bed complete with games, toys, gowns and slippers for the little ones. The main areas have beautiful views, indoor and outdoor dining options and much more to enjoy.
Day 7: Return to Johannesburg
After breakfast, you will drive back to Johannesburg for your onward travel. This is an easy 3 hour drive.
