Day 1 to 2 - Pemba Beach Hotel , Pemba
After arriving at O.R Tambo International Airport in Johannesburg, catch your next flight to Pemba, Mozambique. Once there, you will take a 10 minute road transfer to Pemba Beach Hotel and Spa. Spend 1 night on a bed and breakfast basis.
The Pemba Beach Hotel and Spa is situated on the coastline of Pemba Bay and guests can enjoy snorkelling trips to the incredible tropical reefs surrounding the area. Spend your time relaxing on the beach, enjoying tropical sunset cruises, kayak trips, fishing, windsurfing and a wealth of other watersports on offer. The Pemba area has plenty of markets, a vibrant nightlife and restaurants.
Day 2 to 3 - Lugenda Wilderness Camp, Niassa National Park
Fly from Pemba directly to the private airstrip at Lugenda Wilderness Camp for two nights of luxury and an extraordinary Big Five safari. Niassa is twice the size of Kruger Park and is one of Africa’s most significant wilderness areas. The game viewing is excellent and there are a number of unique species not found anywhere else in the world.
The Lugenda Wilderness Camp is located in one of Africa's last "wild places" and is an emerging photographic destination. The reserve is home to over 200 endangered African wild dog. Accommodation consists of 8 luxury East-African style tents located close to the Lugenda River.
Day 4 - 7 Matemo Island , Quirimbas Archipelago
Fly from Lugenda to Matemo Island for the next adventure. Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Quirimbas Archipelago is still a traditional fishing island where ancient techniques are used. Enjoy dhow safaris and spectacular diving opportunities.
Matemo Island boasts 24 luxurious palm-thatched beach chalets that open out onto the beach. Outdoor showers and hammocks provide an indication that this is true authentic luxury island style living.Matemo offers true elegant beach-side living. Spend 4 days kayaking, snorkelling from the dhow boats, scuba diving, fishing and exploring the island. Day 8 - Transfer to Pemba
Return to Pemba by light aircraft and catch your scheduled flight back to Johannesburg.
